The Refugee Crisis is a Torture Crisis

CVT is outraged at President Trump’s Jan. 27 Executive Order that virtually grinds the entire U.S. refugee resettlement program to a halt; bans the arrival of Syrian refugees; and discriminates against refugees and immigrants based on their religion and country of origin. This order betrays American values.

CVT’s research shows that up to 44 percent of refugees living in the U.S. have survived torture. The need for care is great. It is not time for the United States to shut our doors.

Refugees are the most thoroughly screened people who enter the United States. The process is extremely rigorous and can take years to complete. Click here for details.
