Be a Voice for Refugees and Asylum Seekers
With comprehensive immigration reform getting serious consideration in Washington, we are working to make sure deserving refugees and asylum seekers are not forgotten.
Most of the torture survivors we treat are asylum seekers who suffered unimaginable abuse at the hands of repressive regimes. They deserve healing and protection from those responsible for their torture. Unfortunately, many face obstacles in the current asylum process that exacerbate the severe mental health symptoms of the torture they’ve suffered. Many are detained in jails; others face delays in their asylum application for years. This puts their lives and healing in limbo.
Please contact your U.S. Senators and urge him or her to include the needs of asylum seekers and refugees in comprehensive immigration reform.
