Building Healing Resources for Torture Survivors StatewidePeople who have survived torture are unlikely to talk about their experiences. Yet the trauma they suffered may affect their health, education, work performance and family life. But with time and support, most survivors begin to feel better and improve their ability to trust, work, learn and build a new life. The Minnesota Training and Capacity-Building program educates people who work with survivors of torture and war trauma. This training builds a network of healers who know how to provide culturally appropriate services to refugees and other torture survivors throughout the state. Training modules and materials have been created for groups of professionals including doctors, nurses, social workers, lawyers, teachers and tutors. Training programs include:

Fees are $200 for the first hour, $150 for each additional hour. Clinician/trainers available for trainings are limited. However, we will make every effort to accomodate requests from professionals or organizations working with torture or war trauma survivors. |
