Asian Women United of Minnesota

Provides community advocacy and a 24-hour multilingual domestic violence crisis line serving victims of domestic violence in the Asian community. Advocates in the community advocacy program assist with housing and shelter placement.

Battered Women's Shelters

7 county Metro area
There are ten programs offering 24-hour emergency shelter for battered women and their families, support services, and a crisis line. Any can serve refugees, but language and culture options vary. A new toll free number will connect a woman to a nearby shelter. See their dayonecenter web site for more information. Check to make sure the referral resource understands the special legal situation of refugees.

CLUES Sexual Assault Program

Provides help for victims/survivors of sexual harassment, incest, sexual abuse, rape and their families. Services include bilingual counseling, legal advocacy, emergency pose-assault hospital advocacy, information and referrals for women and men of all ages, as well as self-defense classes.

Rape and Sexual Abuse Center

Provides services for anyone dealing with rape or sexual assault, both male and female. Services include a 24-hour phone line, individual therapy, walk-in counseling, legal advocacy, as well as support and therapy groups.

Sexual Assault Resource Service (Hennepin County Medical Center)

SARS provides services to those clients who have been victims of rape or other sexual assaults; provides complete medical examinations and evidence collection for their clients.

Sexual Offense Services of Ramsey County - SOS

Provides direct services to victims of sexual assault including 24 hour information, referral and crisis phone service, advocacy and outreach, individual counseling, emergency financial assistance, support groups, as well as assistance in arranging child care, transportation, housing, medical and legal services.

Sexual Violence Center - SVC

Provides a 24-hour crisis line to survivors of rape, incest, sexual harassment, child sexual abuse, pornography related abuse, prostitution, sexual exploitation by professionals, as well as acquaintance and marital rape.
