Letter to U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
CVT is part of a broad coalition of human rights, civil liberty, religious, and torture treatment groups that is very concerned about the continuing lack of public information about policies on detention and treatment of detainees following the September 11, 2001, terror attacks. This coalition recently sent a letter to members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence urging them to make public the committee’s report on the CIA’s detention and interrogation program with as few redactions as possible.
It is our belief the public is entitled to a complete report of what happened, detailing how and why the CIA’s policies of torture and cruel treatment came to be used.
