Trained as a community organizer and experienced in political organizing, Mr. Dross has served as CVT’s director of development since 1993 and its director of policy and development since 2007. He and his staff are responsible for all aspects of the organization’s contributed income, external relations and advocacy programs. During his tenure, CVT’s operating budget has increased from $750,000 to more than $10 million. Mr. Dross has managed successful legislative initiatives on state and federal levels; he also provided leadership to the successful 2008 Campaign to Ban Torture, which made a significant contribution to ending the United States’ use of torture and cruelty in counterterrorism efforts post-9/11.
