Though thousands of miles apart, Minnesota and the Middle East shared a strikingly similar weather phenomenon this week – the arrival of a bitterly cold and snowy winter.

Curt Goering is the Executive Director of CVT. In 2009 and 2010, he served as Head of the Gaza office for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. While previously working at Amnesty International, he also investigated the impact of rockets fired from Gaza on communities in southern Israel. Here, Curt reflects on his experience in light of the recent ongoing violence and the heavy psychological toll the conflict is inflicting on children from both sides.

On March 8, the international community marks International Women’s Day. This special occasion recognizes the incredible advancements and achievements of women worldwide. As part of CVT’s observance of International Women’s Day, we’d like to introduce you to women who are leaders in human rights. Here’s an interview with Darine El Hage, a human rights lawyer and activist. She previously worked with New Tactics in Human Rights, a program of CVT.
