Ernesto Cárcamo Cavazos
Ernesto Cárcamo Cavazos is a composer and guitarist of contemporary acoustic and electronic music. He received an Arts Bachelor degree in music composition from Brown University in 2009, where he received the Ron Nelson Award for Music Compositional Excellence. He holds MA in composition from Mills College in California, receiving the Margaret Lyon Prize for Outstanding Music Student.
Involved in a variety of compositional and performative projects, he has adapted to live performance to explore new compositional ideas based on unexpectedness, indeterminacy, and improvisation in the performative setting. Most recently, he has begun incorporating multi-channel systems into his electro-acoustic works to explore the quadraphonic plane as a performative space. He recently performed for Rhizome DC in Washington, D.C., as artist-in-residence for the SOUND HEALS ALL WOUNDS series and presented a new, space-dependent work "Resonancias" for the Berlin Noiselab Festival in late May, 2019.
He currently lives in Berlin, Germany.
