Mado Assefa has a strong mental health, child-care and protection background supported by education and work experiences from different humanitarian organizations. Before joining CVT, she worked for International Medical Corps (IMC)-Ethiopia as a staff wellbeing expert, building a new program for the organization as a team. She also worked as mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) manager for Medecins Du Monde (MDM)-Ethiopia, supporting two different regions: Afar and Somali projects, through capacity building, technical support, site visits and team building. She worked as a mental health counselor for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)-Spain, and as a child psychologist at Elevate Orphan Ethiopia. Mado is passionate about volunteering for Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) at their centers and providing professional support in her leisure time. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Jimma University and Addis Ababa University respectively. She is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
