James Behnke, CPA (Inactive)

VP & Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Behnke brings a vast amount of financial expertise and strategic leadership from his more than 25 years of professional experience. His primary responsibility is managing CVT’s finance activities including financial reporting, forecasting, compliance and staff management. He joined CVT in 2019 and previously worked at TCF Financial Corporation as a vice president of corporate accounting. While Mr. Behnke has primarily worked in the for-profit sector most of his career, he is passionate about nonprofit work and has been actively involved with a number of organizations, including Westwood Lutheran Church, Ten Thousand Things Theater Company, Vail Place and Cabrini Partnership. Mr. Behnke has a Master’s degree in Business Taxation from the Carlson School of Management at University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is a member in the Nonprofit Financial Group – Twin Cities and the AICPA Not-for-Profit group.
