Julie Brunner, J.D. is the retired Executive Director of the Minnesota Council of Health Plans (MCHP).  She had a 40 year career in public policy, with the last 12 years at MCHP. Under her leadership, Minnesota’s nonprofit health plans gained national recognition for working with partners to improve the health of Minnesotans and create a more efficient health care system. She’s also been a trusted leader for policymakers, government agencies, media representatives and community leaders.

She has been a county administrator, worked for Minnesota Senate Council and Research, managed human services programs at both the state (DHS) and county (Anoka, St. Louis) level, and was the Deputy Commissioner of Health under Governor Ventura.

Brunner has an extensive network of contacts at the state and federal level and is extremely knowledgeable about health care reform and reimbursement issues.
