Shawn Roberts

Shawn Roberts, an attorney, has worked with torture survivors for 30 years. In addition to her work as a professor at Golden Gate University School of Law, Roberts also works with the Rocky Mountain Project for Immigrant Women & Children and the Asylum Program at the San Francisco Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. Prior to joining Golden Gate University, she was with the University of San Francisco, where she taught Human Rights and International Law. She has also served as associate director/senior staff attorney at the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies (CGRS) at University of California Hastings College of the Law. Before Roberts began teaching, she was with Bay Area Legal Aid (BayLegal). She also served as the first legal director of the Center for Justice & Accountability (CJA) in San Francisco.
