Surita Sandosham
Surita Sandosham is Executive Director of Heartland Alliance International focused on the intersection of justice and healing in Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa and is part of Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights, a family of organizations leading anti-poverty and social justice work in Chicago. Surita, worked for 14 years at Synergos, a global nonprofit organization that helps solve complex problems of poverty and inequality by creating and promoting collaborative partnerships among business, government, civil society, and marginalized communities. Prior to joining Synergos, she worked for the Rockefeller Foundation and has deep experience working in the nonprofit sector holding senior executive positions in leading international human and civil rights organizations. Born and raised in Singapore, she holds a degree in history and politics from the London University's School of Oriental and African Studies and a law degree from City University London. She is a trained barrister, admitted to Gray's Inn (London) and has practiced law in both Singapore and New York.
