The Georgia Advisory Council was formed in 2018 to advise and assist CVT Georgia in all aspects of its work. The Council is an association of experts from across the State of Georgia, who are recognized for their leadership and contributions in the fields of law, health and human services, government affairs, business, academia and philanthropy. Council members give generously of their time and talent to CVT and are instrumental in advancing its mission to heal the wounds of torture for survivors, families and communities and bring an end to torture.
In Atlanta, Georgia, CVT extends rehabilitative care to refugees and asylum seekers, incorporating the specialized care that is most effective for survivors of torture who have fled their countries to the U.S. in search of safety and a new beginning.
