Plea Deal For 9/11 Mastermind Resurrects Specter of Guantanamo’s Closing — Will It Ever Happen?

As a plea agreement was reached for three Guantánamo detainees who were accused of being behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks (a deal subsequently revoked by the secretary of defense), the New York Post published quotes Scott Roehm, director of global policy and advocacy, gave NPR earlier this year about the lack of action toward closing Guantánamo: “I think it’s largely been a lack of courage and a lack of priority.”
