“There is no legal authority for migrants to be detained at Guantánamo, especially in Camp 6,” said Yumna Rizvi, senior policy analyst, to Mohamud Farah, who spoke to Somali men being held at the notorious facility. She adds, “The tactics, rhetoric, and narrative used at Guantanamo, originally designed for counterterrorism, are now being repurposed for immigration enforcement. This raises significant concerns about due process and access to legal counsel, which appear to be systematic violations by design.”
