Emily Hutchinson
Vice President of Global Programs

Emily is an attorney whose work has brought her to the U.S., Middle East, North Africa and the Balkans. Emily has worked with governments, constitutional courts and civil society organizations on issues ranging from human rights and post-conflict governance to economic development and appellate advocacy.

Prior to joining CVT, Emily served as counsel at the Public International Law and Policy Group where she advised clients in the Middle East in the areas of international human rights law, transitional justice, post-conflict governance and constitution drafting, and justice sector reform. Emily also worked for the U.S. Army Office of the people Judge Advocate, as a law clerk for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, and as the regional program coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Businesswomen’s Network. Emily has managed campaigns for state-wide election and served as the first executive director of Mill City Commons, a non-profit health and wellness organization headquartered in Minneapolis.

Emily currently serves on the board of the Story Orchard. She’s also guest lectured at American University Washington College of Law and the University of Minnesota Law School.
