Dr. Lydia Odenat is a licensed psychologist with more than fifteen years of experience providing care within multidisciplinary and cross-cultural settings. She specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety and specific phobias), grief and loss, chronic stress, PTSD, complex trauma, and race-based traumatic stress. Her clinical work focuses on supporting clients through a wide range of life transitions, and she has extensive experience working with individuals impacted by interpersonal violence, displacement, and profound loss. Dr. Odenat integrates mindfulness-based practices, spirituality, and emotion-focused techniques within a culturally responsive and trauma-informed framework. Dr. Odenat holds a Master of Public Health from Emory University and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University, where her research examined PTSD among refugee survivors of torture. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine, specializing in exposure-based treatments for trauma, anxiety disorders, including specific phobias, and body-focused repetitive behaviors among adults.
