Walter holds a diploma in Trauma counseling which he attained during his work with CVT, he is also currently enrolled in studying Monitoring and Evaluation (April 2025), is also a Graduate of Project Planning and Management from Gulu University, and holds a degree in development studies from Makerere University.

From 2007 to 2015 Walter was involved in community work with war child holland – working closely with children, youth and their caregivers, and conducted many community trainings on child protection.
