In my religion, we were minorities in Iraq, and we are fought everywhere. We had no rights and are considered second or third class at best. We aren’t allowed jobs or activities – we are considered infidels even though we have one God. We are original natives.

I went through terrible experiences. I was personally threatened and had to flee Iraq. One of my brothers was killed. My daughter was attacked on the street. But we are a minority. You cannot make a complaint to anyone. Then authorities threatened to detain my wife and daughter unless I paid them, but I could not afford it. Because I am a religious minority, I had no advocates.

So we came to Jordan. I heard about CVT’s sessions, and I was motivated to come because they give psychological service. After all that I went through, I was very tired. I came to CVT for my mental health.

I got very good response; I felt treated humanely in a very kind way. Before CVT, I was very mentally exhausted and I didn’t know how to vent. My emotions built up – I could not talk to anyone. I couldn’t tell my story to anyone. When CVT started having meetings, I went to each one. I noticed that it was not only me who had difficult stories – each person in the group had a different story, different details. And the exercises were good for me. It resulted in physical and mental improvement.

They also helped me connect with other organizations – CVT called these organizations for me. Social work is one of the important things that CVT does. Physiotherapy and psychological care made improvements but I still needed more – the social work helped me.

Today life is still hard, I still suffer fear of the future and hope for resettlement. CVT can’t contribute to that. But things are better. Sometimes in situations with friends, I explain the benefits of CVT – I tell people to try to come here. I tell them what I received from CVT helps others.

CVT deserves thanks – it’s very high class treatment. People were very kind. I am grateful for all the staff and management. CVT should be everywhere.

لأنني أقلية دينية ، لم يكن لدي مناصرين.

في ديني كنا أقليات في العراق ونُقاتل في كل مكان. ليس لدينا حقوق ونعتبر من الدرجة الثانية أو الثالثة في أحسن الأحوال. لا يُسمح لنا بالوظائف أو الأنشطة – فنحن نعتبر كفارًا رغم أن لدينا إلهًا واحدًا. نحن مواطنون أصليون.

مررت بتجارب مروعة. لقد تعرضت للتهديد الشخصي واضطررت إلى الفرار من العراق. قتل واحد من إخوتي. تعرضت ابنتي للهجوم في الشارع. لكننا أقلية, لا يمكننا تقديم شكوى لأي شخص. ثم هددت السلطات باحتجاز زوجتي وابنتي ما لم ادفع لهم، لكن لم يكن ذلك باستطاعتي. لأنني من أقلية دينية ، لم يكن لدي مناصرين.

لذلك أتينا إلى الأردن. سمعت عن جلسات CVT ، وكان لدي دافع للحضور لأنهم يقدمون رعاية نفسية. بعد كل ما مررت به ، كنت متعبًا جدًا. جئت إلى CVT من أجل صحتي العقلية.

حصلت على استجابة جيدة جدا. شعرت بمعاملة إنسانية بطريقة لطيفة للغاية. قبل CVT ، كنت مرهقًا عقليًا جدًا ولم أكن أعرف كيف أعبر. تراكمت مشاعري – لم أستطع التحدث إلى أي شخص. لم أستطع إخبار قصتي لأي شخص. عندما بدأت CVT بعقد اجتماعات ، ذهبت إلى كل اجتماع. لقد لاحظت أنني لست الوحيد الذي لديه قصص صعبة – فكل شخص في المجموعة لديه قصة مختلفة بتفاصيل مختلفة. كانت التدريبات مفيدة لي. أدت إلى تحسن جسدي وعقلي.

ساعدوني في التواصل مع منظمات أخرى أيضا – اتصلت منظمة CVT بهذه المنظمات من أجلي. العمل الاجتماعي هو أحد الأشياء المهمة التي يقوم بها CVT.  العلاج الطبيعي والرعاية النفسية ادى الى تحسينات لكنني ما زلت بحاجة إلى المزيد – لقد ساعدني العمل الاجتماعي.

لا تزال الحياة اليوم صعبة ، وما زلت أعاني من الخوف من المستقبل وآَمل في إعادة التوطين. لا يمكن أن يساهم CVT في ذلك. لكن الأمور أفضل. في بعض الأحيان بمواقف مع الأصدقاء ، أشرح فوائد CVT – واقول للناس أن يحاولوا المجيء إلى هنا. أخبرهم أن ما تلقيته من CVT يساعد الآخرين.

يستحق CVT الشكر – إنه علاج من الدرجة الأولى. كان الناس طيبون للغاية. أنا ممتن لجميع الموظفين والإدارة. يجب أن يكون CVT للجميع.
