Give a gift of hope and healing
"CVT has given me life –they showed me I have dignity, that I can still live."
This year it will take $26.5 million to radically change the lives of over 30,000 torture survivors and their family members. Much of this $26.5 million comes from institutional partnerships and government grants. But in order to fully fund our mission and help survivors know that their past trauma does not define their futures, we rely on generous individual support from donors like you.
Monthly Giving – The Circle of Hope
Individuals who participate in Circle of Hope pre-authorize monthly contributions to CVT from their credit card. With monthly gifts you help decrease our administrative costs and ensure that more of your donation helps torture survivors directly. Learn more about the Circle of Hope.
Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated stocks, mutual funds or bonds to charity is an efficient way to contribute that can provide you with significant tax benefits. When you make a gift of appreciated stock you avoid any capital gains tax and the gift is tax-deductible. Complete a quick form to access our stock transfer instructions and account numbers.
Gifts from your Retirement Plan
If you are over the age of 70½ and have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), then a gift from your account (called a qualified charitable distribution) can provide significant tax savings. Gifts made as a QCD from an IRA do not count as income and no tax is paid on the amount.
While you are eligible to make this gift starting at 70 ½ when you turn 72 you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA, and a QCD will count towards that RMD.
Contact your IRA plan provider to learn what you need to do to initiate a QCD. You may need CVT’s address and EIN:
2356 University Ave W
Suite 430
St. Paul, MN 55114
EIN: 36-3383933
